Mine too. OP, are you submitting claims online? They usually send you a notification when they receive the claim and then send you another one when they process it. I've never had to wait more than a week for my claims to be paid.


This. I get e-mail notifications of approval/rejection of each of my claims.

Here is my best guess at what happened:

1) for some reason, your paperless reimbursement want set up properly this year.

2) the fsa feds contractors changed in September. When you sent your receipts in, the whole thing got lost in the shuffle.

I would keep up with the grievance process, but in the meantime, file every claim anew. And do it online, where it can be tracked and you will get instant confirmation of receipt.

Happened to us too OP. Except we would file for expenses typically allowed, and they would reject them. We finally decided just to give up on fsafeds and itemize health expenses on our taxes.

No more fsafeds for us. There was a longer thread last year about these problems as well.

Doesn't sound like you're keeping up with your finances. You need to check each time you have a claim. You make a claim and then receive reimbursement. It's not that complicated.

You also need to use paragraphs when writing.

So we discovered this year that FSAFEDS wasn't processing any of our receipts. We've had an FSA through them for years and I only realized this this year because I looked at our bank account online, and no money was deposited at all. Until now I'd always relied on DH telling me the stuff had been processed, or something, since he's the account owner. We haven't even gone back to check prior years--for all we know they could have never paid us back anything.
DH contacted them and they got back to us a couple of months later and asked for "all the receipts we had", then vanished never to be heard from again. That was three four months ago.
DH has filed a grievance and an inquiry with OPM. We recently found out that another friend of ours went through the same thing and OPM took over two years to process the issue.
Anyone had this happen to them?
In the meantime FSAFEDS is happily continuing to deduct our balance from DH's paycheck, and we don't know what to do about next year since this is a benefit we really could use for health expenses but are hesitant to just give them the money away without knowing if we'll ever get it back.
