DD's friend is too grown for 15. She sounds like trash, and is likely up to relations.

DD should not be hanging around her, but will likely associate with her anyway.

I already did all this. I got blank stares and "Uh I dunno.." so that makes me a bit more suspicious, like there was some sort of plan or intent behind it.
Like I said earlier, she told me to take it if I didn't want her to have it.

I can see it as more of a "look what I did and got away with" bad girl attitude to try to impress new friends.

I worked at VS while in college and we hated it when a gaggle of teen girls would come in. If you didn't watch them like a hawk and physically count each pair of panties going in the changing room and coming out, they would steal. Even then, a rare day at work would be only finding one pair of someone's old panties lying in the changing room instead of multiple pairs. We even had a little "grabber" that was sold on an infomercial at the time to pick them up because our GM got upset with how many rubber gloves we were going through.

I would talk to Larla's mom. Return the "gift" to her and explain that you can't accept such a gift. I would also mention how there were gifts for all the girls.

Yes that girl is crying out for help in many ways. You can't do anything about her but you can do something about your daughter. Tell her it's wrong to accept stolen merchandise as a gift. Tell her to return it to the friend, explaining why, and (if applicable) let the girl know that they don't need to exchange gifts to be friends.


That girl is trying to buy acceptance and friendship. No reason to foster that mentality.

So Larla told you directly? Pretty spunky. You tell her not to shoplift for your daughter and that your daughter cannot accept stolen merch.
You tell her that either she tells her parents or you will call and tell them by the end of the week.

What is your take on this?

Teen DD has a new friend, Larla. At a sleepover this weekend at our house, I found a slutty blue velvet and lace Victoria's Secret bustier and thong set after everyone had left. I picked it up and said "Whose is this?" DD says,"Larla gave it to me, as a present. She brought presents for everyone from VS." (it was nobody's birthday) I questioned her as to why a 15 yr old girl would give slutty expensive VS underwear to another 15 yr old girl ( a new friend mind you), and why the girl's mom would agree to buy such a thing. DD says "Uh I dunno" in typical teen fashion. Come to find out, Larla SHOPLIFTED all the stuff from VS for the friends.

What do I do now? Call the parents? End the friendship? Isn't the whole thing weird and strange? I feel like there's something more to it, but what I don't know.
