PGCPS has a survey about the Pre vs Post labor day calendar on the website.

I'm in favor full teacher planning days, too. Seems like the 2 hour early dismissal days aren't really productive school days for the students.

I'm in favor of starting before Labor Day. Teachers really need their full planning days.

It seems to me that the 2 hour early dismissals are in place of the all day teacher work days for grading.

As a parent would you prefer the kids home all day or being dismissed 2 hours early?

Are you for or against a Post-Labor Day start for PGCPS? I’ve looked at the DRAFT Pre-Labor Day and Post-Labor School Calendars and I am in favor of starting school before Labor Day. The Post-Labor Day start includes too many 2-Hr. Early Dismissal Days, and IMO those days aren’t that productive because the school day is just too short for any meaningful learning to take place.
