Does waitlist move much after Q1 for K? How about for 3-5th grades?

Last year there was no movement on the waiting list for First Grade. After that you need to be able to show enough language proficiency to get in.

You should apply (so MCPS knows demand greatly excess supply), but it highly unlikely. Slots go to siblings, so it reduces the actual lottery rate.

26 kids each class, but yes 1/3-1/2 are siblings. And ~300 apply. We were 175 on the waitlist, but I know of people who were well into the 200s. Hundreds apply. Our waitlist number was 281 this past year.

You can call the language immersion office to get exact numbers. There are 2 kindergarten classes, each with 25 kids. However, at RCF nearly half the spots have gone to siblings in recent years.

Check out the Choice Study. It's something like 44 seats, of which half or more go to siblings.

Can someone tell me how many seats are available for Spanish immersion at RCF and how many usually apply? Thanks!
