If this were a BLM protest they all left school for would you all be on board?

I received the same call and I was really unhappy about it. I don't see anything wrong with a peaceful walkout.

Hey, also, remind our kids to put the ACLU mobile justice app on their phones.

good for them and peace...

You should talk to him/her not only about peaceful protest, how to deal with opposition, but also why walking out matters. (aka Boston Tea Party, Berlin Wall)

For example, you may want to explain how lobbyist buy and sell govt officials to get their own laws passed.

This is far from over, you also may want to find out exactly which policy he is against, you can find the 100 day plan online. You may want to point out one or two issues we all agree on like raising the minimum wage.

You may want to talk about how interest rates already are going up and how Republican's and the banks bankrupt our nation 9 years ago by letting unethical and illegal loans (watch the big short).

If he's old enough that you trust him to walk out of school and protest, you need to trust that he will remember what he's been taught already. Otherwise, he shouldn't be able to go.

I have been talking to him. I wrote "I'd like to have time to do a last-minute review."

Why haven't you already been talking about it with him? Also, the best protest these kids do isn't stay in school, become productive members of society, and vote differently in the next election. Remind your children that national politics follows the culture. If you want change, you have to pay attention to local matters and vote for change there.

It happened in MoCo yesterday and is happening in DC today. I haven't heard about P.G. I'd like to know right away and can't depend on my child to be paying attention and to let me know. I'd like to have time to do a last-minute review with him of how to do nonviolent civil disobedience.
