I can't tell you specifically anymore, but I lived in NYC and had a friend who's family was very well connected to NY politics. At that time, Schemer and Trump got a long VERY well. But no surprise for two reasons. Schemer gets along with everyone (he's a very nice personable guy) and everyone loved Trump.

Now? Who knows. Their relationship was one of political and practical convenience as much as anything, so if that value disintegrated . . . .

I have voted for Bernie on a number of occasions. One reason I did not vote for him was because he is too valuable as a senator. I am concerned that the next election have democratic candidates who are campaigning full-time, only to neglect key work on their watch.

Are there folks out there that would be good leaders, who are not going to be serving in Congress, or in a gubernatorial capacity?

Yes, I realize the other thread is on-going. I was intending a discussion about the future, not about why Hillary lost.

My point: There are dozens of bright Dems in Congress who are well-connected, well-funded, and reasonably down to earth. But with the Senate in such tight straits, someone who has the time and expertise to lead, and less of a personal interest needs to be there.

Could we please continue with ideas?

and #2 - anyone that schumer endorses needs to be extra vetted. We know who his handlers are.

I'm on board for Ellison... although some are pointing out his more establishment links, which I don't love (the Soros son, etc.)
