We go to St. Simons right next to Sea Island every year for Spring Break and our kids absolutely get in the ocean on warm days. Since Spring Break is late this year, I think the weather will be perfect (when it's in March, there can be some cold days). Also, not sure if it's the same on Sea Island, but St. Simons has great tide pools when the tide goes out and there is lots of room to run around on the beach and splash around in the shallow water. By Memorial Day, I would certainly think you can get in the ocean.

Used to live there. April and May are the most beautiful months of the year at Sea Island. I highly recommend you go. Weather will be plenty warm for swimming, but ocean might be a little cool. That being said, it might be warm enough. Pools are heated, though, so kids will certainly be able to swim happily. Fun activities then, plenty of sunshine. Definitely go! FWIW, Easter and Memorial Day weekend are crowded, so make plans now.

Ocean is absolutely too cold at spring break. May be tolerable at Memorial Day, but really can still be uncomfortable, depends on how the currents are going and what the air temp is like.

Can be cold and rainy during spring break. Memorial Day is likely to be fine for heated pool and at least sitting on the beach. It is the kick-off to their season.

It must have been unseasonably cool, because Sept as far north as De/NJ beaches is beautiful - warmer ocean temps than June, probably tied with July.

Zika has not infected all of Florida.

Heated pool works for us. Kids could play in the sand.

I believe the resort website has the annual temps. Depends on when you go. Probably won't be warm enough to get in the ocean. Regardless the resort is amazing and there is so much to see and do. Lots of outdoor activities, spa, kids club, restaurants, boating, kayaking etc. one of my favorite places!

Is this a good place to go for spring break (mid April this year) or Memorial Day weekend? Would it be too cold to swim?
