No, but I do remember the oil crisis. And teenagers siphoning gas put of our car to steal it. And going to elementary school in pitch black darkness. Thanks Nixon!

I remember Hemo!

I remember this. Cried to my mom. She said the same thing had been predicted when she was a kid and that new sources of fuel would be discovered. She was right. Thank you fracking. At least renewables are becoming more economically cost effective.

If you lived in Pennsylvania in the 70s, do you remember when the governor declared no school for the next three days to save fossil fuels used to heat schools and to transport students? It was every kid's fondest daydream suddenly fulfilled!
It was great- a totally unexpected five day weekend!

Had we continued on that trajectory of consumption ... But we have been changing our ways for decades and now have alternative forms of energy and continue in that direction. That was the point.

I was in elementary school in the 70s/early 80s. By far the most frightening thing to me was the threat of nuclear war. There was a lot of talk about it, films at school, and The Day After on tv. It scared the bejesus out of me.

I also remember the kudzu threat. Kids did science fair projects on how best to get rid of it. Everyone thought that it grew by the meter every day, was almost invincible and posed a great danger to the US. At least some of the bodies of the children murdered in Atlanta were found in a kudzu covered empty lot, and this added to the scary mystique of kudzu.

Definitely remember the air raid drills.

Not any of the other items though.

I was in junior high in 1974.

I lived in Iran then and there weren't many concerns about running out of fossil fuels! Or pollution. I do remember the gas shortages in the 70s and the long lines at gas stations.

I remember all of that. To this day, I wonder when we are going to run out of gas.

I do remember in Girl Scouts one of the badges was about what to do in case of radiation poisoning.
