At least in Virginia, all the local rec teams that are part of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League field teams at an "A", "Upper B," and "Lower B" level across most ages. So during spring "tryouts" your daughter would be evaluated and likely placed on a LB team with other inexperienced girls. They typically practice twice a week and have games on Sunday. I expect it is similar in Montgomery county.

Any recs for a 14 year old girl who has never played? All of the leagues and clinics are geared towards kids who have been playing, it seems.

Check out the winter clinic options at the website for the Bethesda Lacrosse Club. US Lacrosse is also offering a clinic at the Stone Ridge School on Dec. 18 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Register at the US Lacrosse website.

Finally, in addition to BLC most of the area's youth lacrosse programs in Arlington, Falls Church, Fort Hunt, etc., will list winter clinic options on their web page.

Spring season registration for local rec teams typically begins in mid-November or early December.

Hi, I am trying to find somewhere my 14 yr old can play LaCrosse, even just a clinic would be fine but a team would be better. Any ideas? We live in Capital Hill.

Thanks!
