Subject: My husband does this one small thing that is so rude
Of course it's not the only thing. But its such a small thing to fix. I used to take the garbage cans to the curb and then leave them there all day until he came home. Who cares? He does. He told me that he doesn't like them sitting out there. So I now bring them in after the trash is picked up. It takes a couple of seconds. Yeah.
There far worse things my husband does, so if he wants his dirty dishes in the sink at all hours, that's fine.
I just wish he would clean up his act in all the other, more heinous, categories!

DH does it too. But he also does the dinner dishes and empties the dishwasher. So frankly I suck it up and figure I do annoying shit too... and figure it's the cost of admission.
If this is my only compromise after 10 years, I figure we are doing pretty well and score keeping won't do us any favors. Or our kids.

Oh I totally enable my DH around these little things. A couple of socks on the floor. A dish in the sink. Pajamas slung over a chair instead of the hamper.
I don't mind really because when I really need help or want him to take on a big project, I think the good will makes him cooperative. That and he's always super sweet to me, which I like.

My DH takes the dishes and literally tosses them into the dishwasher without a thought about how it should be placed inside to maximize the number of dishes washed. Last night he put a cookie sheet on the top rack. Just laid it there horizontally. WTF?
But...he's really charming. And I kind of find it all adorable.

This. Is one of the first in a long list of issues that is leading to our divorce. I have asked him to put the damn dishes in the dish washer, but his new game is to rinse all the dishes and leave them next to the sink, this while I have communicated to pu them in the dishwasher and it is empty.
At least DH doesn't leave moldy food all over the house for our DD to get into. I am not his mother, but I will protect my daughter.

Yep, he should do that. BUT. Can you just let it go and do it for him? Because. It is just one dish. The dishwasher (also named DW) is right there.
This is OP, and that's kind of funny. However, I do plenty of things for him. I'm sure he does this because he never empties the sink (or the dishwasher, for that matter) so he has no idea how maddening it is. So I've already cleaned up after dinner - for all of us, including him. Just don't mess up my work!

My DH does this with DS's breakfast dishes. I make DS's breakfast and then go upstairs to get ready and DH takes DS to daycare after breakfast. Every morning I come downstairs to find DS's dishes next to the sink. DH puts his own dishes in the dishwasher if it's empty but just leaves DS's there next to the sink unrinsed. It's annoying.
