I would say about once a month. I'm 38.

I'm not on FB, but DH is. He posts a pic of DC maybe 3-4x per year.

I post an occasional pic on instagram but never show DC's face because my account isn't set to private.

We're pretty private people.

1-2x a year. mid-30s. I share with direct family more often, but I figure my hundreds of FB acquaintances don't necessarily care. The harder case is closer friends whom I've lost touch with and am only in contact with through FB. They would probably appreciate more pics, but I don't really like posting there a lot.

Maybe 1-2x a week? But I don't have a lot of FB friends. I don't "friend" neighbors or even people in my mom group. My FB friends are limited to real life friends and family.

Mid 30s. I lost about once a week or ever two weeks. She's still a baby. It will probably change to no face in a year or so. I do love seeing everyone's pictures though.

36 years old. I post pictures of DS quite frequently; maybe every other day. Lots of people ask for photos, since we've moved to different states twice since he was born, and I have a very close-knit family who now lives about 1500 miles away.

Mid-40s, middle school kids, major events only -- first day of school, Halloween, birthday, maybe Xmas. Plus family vacation photos. And, kids get veto power over what's posted since they are now old enough to care.

Late 30s here (both) and although we use and post on Facebook regularly, we don't post pictures where the face of our kids can be recognized. We've heard and read so many stories of facial recognition being used by governments and private firms and stories of pictures on social media being used against people later in their lives. We don't go to these extremes but we trust our kids' judgement when they will be adult to say / do what they want on social media for themselves (rather than imposed by their parents, years ago).

Same. I'm 38 and post a lot. I think the older (mid-late 30s +) crowd actually posts more (on FB actually).

DH and I are late 30s. There definitely appears to be a generational difference with posting on FB. Most of our similarly-aged friends post small batches of pictures, maybe once every 2-3 months or so. The younger friends/family of ours (under 30 crowd) post daily/weekly.

I'm mid-40s, young children. Post all the time. I don't have a lot of online friends, but far-flung family really enjoy them. We're also military, and it's nice to see the kids who have moved away.

Early 30s here. 2-3 times a month.

I see a huge difference between friends who are my age (late 30's) and early 30's. Most of my friends have accounts but don't post often. I may post a picture on facebook once a year. It took me two years to update our family picture after our second child was born. I did recently get Instagram and have about 10 followers. These are friends I talk to and hang out with on a regular basis. I have been posting pictures on Instagram whenever we do something interesting, kind of like a photo journal.
