Impressive, especially at that price. I wonder if the quality is there, though...

Monsoon clothes are gorgeous and they do go on sale. So far everything we've bought there has been decent quality. And a fancy dress isn't going to get the wear and tear of everyday clothing.

OK, it might stress the bank, but I love the special occasion dresses at Chasing Fireflies. There are plenty that are not babyish.

Oddly, I've had a lot of luck with vineyard vines

check out target online the new cat and jack line.

the search feature is horrible but they have some cute items and good promos. Shop early and return as stock goes quick.

Plaid kilt/skirt, tights and a long sleeve T with a cardigan would be great for this age (my DD too).

I would do something knee length in black and white or silver, or something in holiday red/black with a little bit of plaid.

There seem to be some nice choices at The Children's Place:

I'm following this thread. I have an 8.5 year old DD and the same issue. We are also taking a Disney cruise in January and would like her to be able to wear the dress for "formal night" so I'm thinking something black or gold or silver or cream as opposed to red/green.

How fancy? What about a solid color dress she can dress up with different shoes and accessories?

EBAY - I do a filter on price / brand and have my daughter pick out a handful.

I have been looking around and I feel like everything is either too "young" for her, or too mature/skimpy. I miss the days when she was little and loved the frilly dresses. Any tips on finding a happy medium that won't break the bank? Ideally something she can wear for Christmas Eve, NYE and any holiday gathering we attend.
