Let's be honest - the senate has accomplished basically zero for 8 years. Anyone who came in in that timeframe will look like they've accomplished little, through no fault of their own.

My friend who lost a sibling at va tech speaks glowingly of then-gov kaine. He is a kind and decent human being. During the filibuster, he spoke so passionately about that horrible day.

And there wouldn't be any scandal to worry about.

Neither did Obama FYI. He was remarkably inexperienced when he became President, just a few years as a senator and a minimal record in Illinois.

Of course it would mean a Clinton victory followed at some point with a swift resignation due to the investigations or indictments. The turmoil of that would be very difficult, but not as damaging to the country as some may think. The US is much stronger than that. And I can live with a President Kaine. As I suspect most Americans can.
