Several Neighbors have kids at robinson and they seem very happy with it. We moved to the Terra Centre zone this summer and love it so far. Nice feel to the burke Centre area and are still amazed at how walkable a lot is and how convenient everything else is.

About the only main drive is for Saturday entertainment and even that is 15-20 minutes away so not far. Everything else from sports to libraries to grocery to coffe to Target is like 5-10 minutes. Wonderful!

biggest difference between LB and Robo is that Robo is mainly an IB school and LB is just AP. we are at Robo and really like it, but the full IB diploma program is ALOT of work.

We are exploring that as well. We are focused on Burke because it seemed have a better community feel (farmer's market, Halloween events, et) probably because it's a smaller area, we also like the pool options in Burke which is a big deal with young children during the summer. West Springfield also seems lovely. If there are any particular neighborhoods you recommend for the Irving MS and West springfield High school area, I would love to hear about those as well.

My kids are all introverts to varying degrees, with a couple of them being very shy, and they all did fine at LB. The size of the school is actually an advantage because there are enough kids that everyone can find their own groups of like-minded friends. Also, the school is big enough that it can support lots of different teams and clubs. Kids have to ear to speak up and advocate for themselves at times, but I view that as a positive.

The middle school uses a team system, so kids have classes in a smaller group. Teachers really get to know the kids in their classes and the team teachers can keep an eye out for a kid who might need a little more attention for whatever reason. Teachers knew my kids well enough to write insightful recommendations for other opportunities.

OP, have you thought about adding Irving MS/West Springfield HS to your list?

No. Terra Centre kids go to Robinson. AAP students from Terra Centre can go White Oak/Lake Braddock. But, in general, Terra Centre is not a split feeder.

There are so many options, most kids find a niche. Many of the teams are huge, and the kids have a great time. So many clubs! Honestly, the size means there is something for everyone.

+1. Ours graduated from Lake Braddock and absolutely loved it. Their friends who went to Robinson loved it there as well. Both do a great job managing the MS and HS. Don't let the size worry you. They're both great schools.

Yes, competitive housing market indeed. That's one of the reasons, we are open to either schools. They both seem excellent.

I was really worried about that as well OP. We had kids at Lake Braddock. They do keep the middle school kids separate from the high school kids for the most part. There is some mixing with extra-curricular. My daughter is extremely introverted and I worried about the size overwhelming her. It was a non-issue for both of my Lake Braddock kids. They find their little group. My daughter was into chorus and drama. Those are the kids she spent most of her time with. My son rowed. All of his friends were crew kids.

They are separated.

We are looking at houses zoned for Lake Braddock and Robinson Secondary. Both schools have good ratings. however, I'm concerned about the large size of these schools especially during the middle school years. Are the middle and high schools separated? One of our children is introverted and I'm nervous that she would find such an environment overwhelming.
