They've been recentered a couple times, at least. I taught test prep 25-30 yrs ago, when Kaplan and The Princeton Review had just started. We went through a recentering while I worked there. Parents worried. But it all ended up fine and no big deal.

Nope. After I took them. I took them at the nadir of average scores. So my pretty good score would be awesome if recentered to today's standards.

Just one more way we create anxiety in our kids by having everything they do be small deviations from perfect, rather than teaching them that pretty darn good need not be perfect.

even grade inflation with the SATs? Can't be good for our kids if everyone is a winner.
