This is a great suggestion.

I'd also consider similar physical games like Santorini and Quarto. Younger kids can actually do really well with those physical/spacial games.

You could also consider cooperative games like Dinosaur Escape.

Possibly Sleeping Queens.

Also consider playing games with the 11 year old and adults where the 4 year old is on your "team." That's how we taught my youngest Rat-a-tat-cat.

2nd for Sleeping Queens. I found it fun to play as as a grownup with kids. Maybe the 11 year old would go for it. It also comes in a very small box so it's not burdensome to keep or send home with the 4 year old.

I have kids that far apart, and they enjoy what PP suggested, plus Clue and Monopoly, although obviously the 4 year old will need to team up with someone for Clue, and will need help with money for Monopoly.

I would say that it really depends on their personality - if the oldest is patient and the youngest is willing to stretch, it will work out.

I will have family in for Thanksgiving who have a 4 and an 11 year old. I would like to get something fun for the kids to do as I like them and they're going to be at our house for a very long time that day. Is there a fun game they could play together or we could play with them (they'll be about 6 adults around also) that would engage them both?

There's a large age range, I know, so perhaps nothing good exists.
