My DC did when it was encouraged. Some schools specifically said not to include one. Having a resume wasn't an extra hoop. DC already had it for applying for internships, and also used it in alumni interviews. DC still uses the resume.

DC used one and still uses the same (but updated) resume in college when applying for internships and such. No big deal.

I started my child's resume in the 9th grade. It consist of extracurricular activities, volunteer work and her summer job. It also list her CPR certification information.

We were told NOT to attach resume, unless the college specifically states that would be appropriate to do. Apparently, many colleges got annoyed that the CA allowed for resumes. If there is some other "additional info" that you feel needs to be included (eg, unusual personal circumstances, other stuff not included on CA) this is where it would go.

That is my gut feeling. The counselor said to send it but it has a lot of the same info. There are more activities and service work because the common app only has 10 spaces but if colleges wanted more than 10 wouldn't they ask?

My kids HS told them to work on a resume (compile job history, clubs, leadership positions, awards) and use that information when completing your application. My kids did not send the actual resume--redundant.

Did your students attach a resume to their common app? My school counselor told my DC they should. Some of the information is new but a lot looks repetitive to me. What do most people do?
