They are jerks and telling her that, even if true, was definitely not cool. It totally gave her a complex. And her personal experiences have backed up thaeir assertions, so... yeah. Needless to say I have given her many pep talks about how lots of guys will love her height. But these are her experiences (and they are valid)

I'm short and have always dated tall men. My husband is 6'3.

I'm a short girl and I noticed this. I have never dated anyone under 6 feet and I feel like I get a ton of attention from those types. Most of my tall friends have to date men even shorter than they are I truly don't understand it. What's the deal, guys? Makes no sense.

I'm 5'9 and my ideal guy is my height 5'10 is perfect. I've dated up to 6'4 too tall and 5'6 too short

If you are short, most people are taller than you. Odds are, you will end up married to a taller person.

And vice versa.

I really like shorter guys. I dated one who was 5'3 to my 5'7 and I wore heels.

All those people they are talking about guys that are 5'9. That's short if you are 6' and tall if you are 5'1".

Perhaps shorter men like taller women because they want tall kids? Tall men don't have to worry about that so they go with whoever they want, which happens to be short women?

Looking through the threads, I noticed something kind of interesting. Most of the women on the "tall women" thread were married to shorter guys, and most of the women on the "short women" thread seem to be married to tall guys.

I wonder why this is? Natural selection or something? Seems so odd.
