CMI is on the grounds of AFRH and has to abide by their rules. That is the issue. Beauvoir owns their grounds - CMI is a school on borrowed grounds.

But one festival a year?? (NP)

Nothing to do with CMI. AFRH does not want it open on weekends.

The CMI playground is NEVER open. When the Lincoln's Cottage had their fall festival a few weeks back, they stationed three volunteers on the playground to literally shoo kids away. What gives, CMI parents? Why so f'ing stingy? Even Beauvoir opens its gorgeous playground on the weekends.

Thank you for the typos though, OP. They did make my laugh. Especially the pubicly accessible playgrounds. My husband want to know if we can kick the kids out of the bed and find one of those...

Not sure which direction you are coming from but there is a playground on 8th and Taylor in Petworth. If you are coming from further north, maybe check out the DC Bilungual playground or the Bridges playground, both of which I believe are open to the public.

Also not open to public families when the Old Soldiers Home is having an event. Seek playground elsewhere.

The CMI playground is not open to the public on weekends, or CMI families for that matter. The school is located on a ferderal facility, thus it is not pubically accessible, and is only available for CMI student use during school hours.

Not being snarky, but what do you mean by "all the way there"? Where are you coming from and how are you getting there?

My first thought is there are at least 2-3 other playgrounds in all directions more convenient than the grounds of the Soldiers Home.

Okay, then, not to snarky back, but there aren't where we are coming from. And if there are, I obviously don't know about them. So please enlighten me. (And also please let me know if the CMI playground is open to the public on weekends)

We will be walking
