Racks look so ugly, and clutter the counter. I barely hand wash anything though, most everything goes in the dishwasher.

I loathe hand drying, so we always have a rack out.

Our ugly plastic rack is out all the time. I don't really see it anymore myself, but now that I think of it, it probably is a huge eyesore. But we do need it! Life's too short to spend time hand drying, IMHO.

I lay out a dish towel to dry pots and pans, etc. I prefer that so I can fold it up when not in use rather than have a big rack out all the time.

I don't. I set the few things washed by hand on the counter. I don't like stuff on the counter.

Couldn't live without a drying rack. Don't understand how people do.

I took care to choose something that would go with my countertop.

Rack. Use it every day.

Ours is collapsible and lives in the cabinet under the sink. We bring it out when needed, and then tuck it away.

We do. If you hand wash something where would you put it without one?

I think it's ugly but DH insists on it. Especially since our sink is in the island. I grew up without one and we (my mom) survived just fine.
