The big deal is that the jets are breeding grounds for bacteria. It's not like a hot tub where there are chemicals to keep the bacteria at bay. OP, you are right to be wary of a jetted tub. That being said, it is probably fine. It's not like you are going to catch a disease or something. But the "ick" factor is definitely there.[/quote
