I'm celebrating my 30th anniversary with my spouse this year, and we know lots of lots of married and otherwise coupled guys. So it can be done.

However, my single friends who use the dating apps (the real dating apps) seem to encounter only people who really need to stay single. Hookup apps work great, an entirely different story. Personally I think the chance of a fun hookup lasting and turning into something else between two guys who like each other is probably a more realistic scenario than blind dates with unknown guys who are likely to be losers.

Yeah that was kind of harsh, you don't really know me and what works for you may not work for everyone.. That said, I know there are people out there that can find partners in this area but I know a lot of single people. I have dated online, but a lot of people will talk to you and then you never hear from them. The ones that I end up keeping in touch with, well it just never really goes anywhere. A lot of people here I notice are really into status.

Has anyone had any success in finding a partner in DC? I've been living here for five years now and haven't had much luck finding anyone. Is this normal? I'm a quiet easy going guy and think I am doing ok career wise.
