** Ugh, I meant friendship is over.

My DD is going through something similar, her former bf moving on to a group with someone who doesn't like DD, so the friensgip is over now. i really liked her bf and her mom had also become my friend. It is sad to lose both friendships, but I get that it's a part of kids growing up.

This happened with my DD also during freshman year of high school. She didn't want to talk about it but I had an idea it was a new friend that got in between them. They did find their way back to each other during senior year. Not the same friendship but at least friends again.

I have told my DD I miss her friend but really only once when we talked - I wouldn't want to weigh her down when she is doing so well.

Yes both girls are doing great. For some reason it makes me sad. Maybe they will find their way back to each other in time.

Highschool DD is no longer friends with her best friend since birth. These two were tied at the hip complete with childhood fantasies of living next to each other when they grew up. Now its been months and best friend is no where to be found. DD has a completely different social group as does ex best friend. I find the whole situation so strange and I miss old best friend - she felt like a part of our family. I've talked with DD and other saying that they had a small argument and like different girls nothing major happened. DD seems happy and content with her new group. I just can't get my head around it - so weird.
