$130 for three boys' costumes. That is about $100 more than I wanted to spend!

I won't spend more than $20-$30 on the costume. But then I wind up spending more money on an accessory I didn't think of -- last year she had a short sleeve princess dress and rather than have her wear a jacket over it I spent $15 on a long-sleeve shirt the exact color of the dress to wear under it.

$35 and I thought I was being really extravagant. Usually I make one.

Same and I plan to resell the only ones as kid2 outgrows them.

The art teacher in me must make their costumes, as long as they'll let me. On all supplies about $9-10 each for two boys.

About $20-25 but I'm going partly DIY and buying items that can be used again (e.g. Sweatshirt as part of a costume and then using that for my kids' wardrobe for the rest of the year).

My mom found a cute costume two years ago after Halloween for $4. My daughter wants to wear it again this year (and it still fits). The year before that she wore a princess dress we already had, and I spent maybe $5-8 on supplies to make her a fancy hat.

I think I spent about $15 on my sons costume last year-and he also wants to reuse it this year.

I think I'll be around $100, including face paint, for one child.

20-25 each this year. In the past I have spent more but it doesn't translate into a better costume.

I just bought my daughter her 'dream' costume $130 total. Yes, I went insane. And was totally living out unresolved childhood issues of feeling like I had uncool costumes and clothes. I own it. Son's $40 seemed like a bargain.

$20. But he's 4 so not really elaborate.

I usually spend $50-$75 per costume. Maybe another $25 for makeup or accessories

Kid A = 120

Kid B = 96

Kid C = not sure but I think I can find one at Target for 20 (Disney princess dress)
