OP here again with an update in case anyone else needs this info... Since several of the PPs above recommended him, I contacted David Stiverson and he got my couch downstairs! And to the other PP re: the window - no, this is going in a basement, so the only windows are the smaller basement kind. We can get it inside the house, but not down the stairs to the basement.

You might be surprised how much a piece is meant to be disassembled to fit through small spaces, even if it doesn't look it. I'd still call C&B.

Yes, we used movers - but I think it's beyond their expertise/comfort level. Even with taking the legs off it's still 4 inches wider than the door frame. I've read a couple articles about companies in NYC that specialize in taking a couch apart - taking the back and arms off - and then putting it back together. I Googled but couldn't find anything like that here, but thought I'd check on DCUM.

Did you use movers? They should've done this for you -- disassembled it to move it where you wanted it and then reassembled.

We just moved into a new house with very narrow doorways and our relatively-new Crate & Barrel sectional won't fit through the doorway of the room in which we intended to use it. Anyone know of any couch disassembly services in the DC area that might be able to help us? We can use it where it is now, but it's not ideal... Any help would be great. Thanks!
