Atlantic City, NJ? What would be a pleasant thing to do there?

Also on the list, thanks!

O/T: Is it weird to visit college campuses if I'm not going to college? I always found them to be a fun place to visit. They're generally beautiful, I wouldn't mind being there. Is that creepy? Can I just walk in? I'm a woman in my early 30s.

Nope, and yes, you can walk in. No one will blink an eye.

Downtown Raleigh NC; check out and see if they have any festivals. They have an awesome first night celebration on Dec 31st.

Charlotteville is fun, and Staunton VA is cute and walkable and has a small college in the center.

The Norfolk trip on Amtrak is miserable. You can fly from BWI to ORF for a similar price. I have done the flight gate to gate in 28 min.

NYC. It doesn't have to be expensive. Central park is free. Lots of cheap good eats.

Do you not drive at all? What about renting a car for the weekend, or doing Zipcar or the like?

I do drive and can rent a car, but prefer to keep these as low cost as possible.

I don't have a car, but I'm fine taking the train/bus anywhere. Recommend places to go on the weekends on a train/bus. Already done and do Philly/NYC/Baltimore. I'm looking for things where public transport is easy, and I can potentially do day trips so it's not expensive to stay there. Just ideas. I'm up for anything. Love small towns, don't mind hking, like exploring. Just want to do something other than Netflix and chill
