Well, technically, it's not a travel league.

My older son places on a CCL team, older one, we travel to two games a year in league play that requires 3 hours one way. The rest are "in the area" which requires 45 min to hour drive because of traffic. We also play 2 CCL showcases in Richmond.

My younger sons SFL team traveled 30/60 minutes for non home games.

So SFL is essentially a travel thing.

Also the debate of travel for CCL is prett much the same for other leagues who have to drive 45-60 minutes for a game "in the area" because of traffic.

Actually it is a league that has kids travel, the kids have to wear the same # on their shirt for all games. There aren't pictures, but it shouldn't be considered 'rec' either since the score is kept and there are standings.

Sure, but that's true of a lot of "House" leagues as well.

That said, I find the distinction between SFL and ODSL quite arbitrary ... oh no! I've mentioned a league!

Lead balloon.

Let's hope you stick to soccer and don't give it up for a future in the comedic world.

Soccer is a sport primarily played by kicking a round ball, but it may also be played with any other part of the body except the arm/hand (and, at younger ages, the head).

Travel soccer is a youth soccer competition in which players travel. Unless they're in SFL, in which they travel but aren't playing travel.

And that's pretty much it. Hope you enjoyed the thread.
