I am writing not to offer insight on a particular school, but to recommend an approach for those who don't have unlimited funds to pay for tuition.
We have 3 kids (now teenagers). We sent the first two kids to private elementary, and they are now in private middle school. For our third child, we enrolled her in MCPS for elementary and have been very pleased. How about using your local elementary for K to 5, and then switching to private?
Once you start paying tuition, it really really adds up over the many years. I just mention it is a huge commitment to pay for private for pre-K to 12. Also, your child will not have as many neighborhood friends if he or she does not go to elementary school in the neighborhood. Just a thought!

Currently $31k for high school (higher for boarding)
Pre school/PreK is around $16k

Not in PG County..its in Sandy Spring...between Olney /Silver Spring/Ashton in Montgomery County
Definitely a good choice for a progressive school. Also check out Barrie School

After touring many schools we realized what we wanted was at the higher price point, and we made some budget changes and decided to take the plunge. There are many, many great schools in the area. Take tours, ask questions and see what will be the right fit. Good luck!

Your best bets are religious schools where the religion is low-key. Friends School in College Park. CFMS in Petworth. Grace Episcopal in Kensington.
Also Christ Episcopal School in Rockville. Runs through 8th grade.

Green Acres preschool is a dream!!! 27,700 is a lot, but it's a full day everyday. My kid is never bored and the kids are wonderful together.

Seneca Academy up to 5th. Barnesville up to 8th. $13,000 and $20,000 respectively.

I think Green Acres PK is less than $30k, but it will go up for the older grades.

Norwood will have pre-K next year starting at about $20,000 but if you wish to continue after that, the bill will gradually increase. Worth it though.

We live in Kentlands but I would still love my LO to go to a "progressive" private for pre-K and potentially all the way up to HS. Been searching online and it seems there's not much of them in MoCo and those few available are around 30K (sigh..). Any cheaper (and non-religious) options out there? I'm ok with up to 25K but 30 just really seems like too much. TIA
