I've been to Wegmans 3 times. I tried and tried to understand what all the hype was about but don't get it. I usually stick with WF.

16:47 here. That was my experience. I also found the layout to be odd. The produce section is a sprawling section without a clear flow of traffic.

The salad bar area of Wegmans is disappointing. Their special salads (potato, et cetera) are overpriced and kind of bland.

Whole Foods is more expensive, but the layout is better and their specialties are much tastier.

Wegman's has a great selection of Spanish hams! That alone is a reason to go! They have a good cheese counter, Latino section, and European section!

Agree. We have a Harris Teeter 6 minutes away and a Wegmans 20 minutes away. I always just go to the Wegmans (although combine all grocery shopping into one trip a week) because I know I can find everything, their store brand stuff is really good, and the prices are better.

If you buy organic, Wegmans has some but not nearly as extensive as WF.

I like Wegmans overall. We also moved further from a Whole Foods and now live by a Wegmans. The only things I miss from Whole Foods:

-Best produce. Wegmans is good but sometimes things spoil too fast.

-Better deli counter at WF

Wegmans is better than both.

I'm much closer to wegmans that WF but would still probably choose it for those sections. I like their meat and seafood selections and have never had any be bad or go bad quickly. The produce is always fresh, though occasionally they're out of things (not the basics), perhaps because of the season.

Wegman's is way, way better than both those stores. Their produce is pretty good but since we have MOM's nearby I prefer them. Meat and seafood are excellent, the bakery and prepared foods are also good.

I usually shop at WF + Harris Teeter because neither has everything I want, but I now live near a Wegmans and I wonder if that could be a one-stop shop? I think it'll do well for a HT sub, but how's the produce, meat counter, seafood counter? Those are the things I usually buy at WF.
