So do you think its just your alarm or that everyone else in your building has taken out the battery during the day to not drive their neighbors nuts with the beeping?

And when it actually goes off because your house is on fire, no one is going to call 911.

We didn't call 911. Called non emergency. Someone is on the way.

It just went off again. Thats what is strange. Shouldn't it be on continuously if there is a problem?

Next time don't call 911, call the non emergency number, at this point all you have is a noise complaint. If their cars are there and you honestly believe they are home they can come out and check on them. No one is breaking a door down just for an alarm though.

I would call. Better safe than sorry, they could have occupants in there and have already passed out but not yet dead so you could potentially be saving a life or more.

What's the point of having an alarm if you just ignore it?

If there is an electrical issue that is causing smoke but not a fire, wouldn't you want someone to find it and address it before it catches fire and spreads?

Just call 911 and let them know and let them take care of it.

As the title says this is the 5th time in about an hour the smoke alarm has gone on and off. Which I'm pretty sure is not how they work unless someone is resetting them right?

DH knocked two different times and no one answered. Another neighbor checked in a window (because we are a bit worried) and no visible smoke.

Would you call the fire department to come check it out?
