My favorite beaches are south, in the sarasota area - Siest Key is AMAZING (though not a ton immediately around). St Armand's is nice and there are close by restaurants and shopping.

I second siesta key, especially with little kids if you just want to do the beach.

Fly into RSW and go to Sanibel or Marco Island. Will be much warmer.

Floridian here - Some years it's still warm enough to swim. Other years it's cool and rainy. The weather in Florida changes hour by hour. There is no way to guess. We can usually use our pool though November. The ocean will still be pretty warm even if the air is cool.

Clearwater is an easy 30 min drive from Tampa. Love being on the Gulf -- warm water, gentle waves.... ahhhh.

Would like to go on vacation with 2 and 3 yo. What's the weather like in the Tampa area around that time?
Any recs on beaches/hotels/resorts . We plan on playing in the sand on the beach and playing in the water. Nothing else!

I desperately need a vacation
