My husband being able to see where I am when he wants to know when I'll be home or if he needs to pick up our son without having to interrupt me with a text or a phone call is one of the best things about cell phones. Track away, I have nothing to hide.

Well, the reality is the bus left the site of the completion after midnight. The kids went to sleep on the bus home (they left the school around 7 AM, and were tired). When I went to sleep (early because I had gotten up really early the night before to get my DD to school before 6), and when I got up at 2:45, the only note was that they were leaving just after midnight. My DD was probably asleep. I was able to see where they were and knew it would be fine to get to the school at 4:15 AM. How is that creepy?

I love Find My Friends. DH and I can coordinate without lots of texting back and forth when we divide and conquer with our kids on outings. Plus, I can check and know whether he'll get home from work first or I will, so we don't have to text back and forth about that, either. Makes pick-ups and starting dinner really easy.

Good for you, OP. One extra hour of sleep is like a vacation

I would not call that stalking. I told my kids I am tracking them (as long as they live under my roof and/or rely on me for supports (especially the phone).

Plus, DD was sleeping on the bus. The best thing would be to have the phone set an alarm when they were within 20 miles of me. Actually, that may be a good app.

I have it set up (through find my friends) so I can stalk my DD's and DW's Location. DW can stalk me too. It is useful to understand when DW will be home for getting stuff ready, and sometimes I can not be reached at work; DW can see which office I am in (I work at 3 or 4 sites; two do not allow cell phones).


But, last night, my DD was coming home from a HS Band event. The scheduled arrival time for the busses home was 3:30 AM. I had gone to sleep early to get up in time (we had to drop DD off at 6:00 AM). I woke up at 2:45, saw DD's location, and realized she would not be in to 4:15 or so, so I went back to sleep for one hour.

That is why I stalk my kid: for more sleep for me.
