i just called cvs and the pharmastist said that there sould be two lines in the test window. so i guess that means i am not. after so many hours of suspense i will definately be going to cvs later today and looking at the package myself. i will let you know what happens.

I can't handle the suspense on your behalf. Can you call the pharmacist (and check back with us).

If I were you, I would just get another test and test again. This is important enough for you to go through the expense of buying another test. If you really want a cheap test, you can get a test at the Dollar store for 1 dollar.

I think I may have used the same test as you. It was definitely CVS brand, but I used the early test (not sure that's what you used or not). If I remember correctly, the control line (which for me was much darker) was on the right. Both spaces had vertical lines - no plus sign. The line in the other window was very faint because I was testing early, but everything I read at the time said that a faint line was still a line. I confirmed the results later in the day with a digital test.

Is your test kit white plastic or more clear? From the pics I see online, the white plastic case appear to be + style tests, while the clear plastic cases are the | | variety.

Also - on the + variety tests I see online - the control line in the test window is perpendicular to the line in the control window (i.e. looks like -- | ), and if the parallel cross shows up that's a positive.

But most of the ones on line seem to be the | | variety, so I think you're very probably pregnant - congrats!!

i am testing a day after my expected period. i can't leave the house today because i have hvac and other service people coming, along with working around ds's constant meals and naps. this waiting is killing me. the faint line was parallel to the control, but i am trying not to get my hopes up until i know what the result is suposed to look like.

If it was a + style test, I'm pretty sure a negative would look like: - |
while a positive would look like: + |

If it wasn't a + style, then a negative would only be the control line and a positive would be: | |

I think in all cases the "you're pregnant" line is parallel to the control line.

I do not have a CVS test - but my experience is that normally there are 2 windows or sections. The control which tells you the test is working and the result space.

For most of the tests I have taken, the result space was blank if not pregnant.

How may days before your period are you? This may influence the color of the line based on how many hormines are in the pee.


If in doubt - go get another test.

i took the test this morning and had a very faint line in one window and a dark line in the control window. i don't know what that means since i threw the box away over a month ago. probably read the box and thought, "gee that is simple i won't forget." well, i have forgotten what the result should look like. should it be a + or a -, i just don't know. i have searched online, but the image of the box is too small to read. can anyone out there save me a trip to teh store and tell me what the result should look like?
