Are you sure about this? I don't think they can consider gender when making offers. The only thing they can do is try to up applications from girls. But in practice it's true, the numbers aren't that dramatic. I don't believe the numbers are worse at Blair, either, as was speculated.
If you look at the Choice Program report the ratio of boys to girls in Blair increases.

PP again, while there may be more boys, it is not a noticeable difference. The imbalance may be more apparent at Blair.

My DD, who doesn't have a particularly strong interest in STEM, has really enjoyed all the magnet classes. The math teachers are strong and science classes a lot of fun. She has even enjoyed coding. More importantly, she had found a caring, supportive, encouraging group of girls (and boys).
