PP here. I agree with you. I was suggesting a backup plan in case your airbnb gets cancelled..

Not really related to the original question (sorry, OP!), but I had a bad experience with AirBnB where someone hacked into my account (totally account takeover) and it took them months to recover it. In the meantime, that person set up a fake villa in Ibiza and took a lot of money from people. Once AirBnB was able to get me back in, I was able to see all the conversations between potential renters and the hacker, and was contacted by people desperate to get their thousands of dollars back.
I will never use AirBnb after that. It took them forever (several months) to get me back online with no communication on their end, and in the meantime, someone scammed lots of people out of a ton of money.

Does the renter get a credit? I reserved a place that was accepted and then the next day hist cancelled. When i reserved a new place I suddenly had a "discount"- would the first cancellation give me credit? So confused!
