There was a blog post (sorry - it is lost to the ages) about rubber flooring. It comes in beautiful colors, is anti-static, several other great attributes. It's insanely expensive, but maybe that? It also ships from overseas.

I love all of those colors!!! I can't wait till my kitchen finally disintegrates so I can redo the flooring!. Commercial sounds sturdy.

Fun OP! It would seem to me that if the tile could withstand commercial traffic, it would be fine in your house.

I want a whacky color very bright kitchen floor -- like this: http://www.harveymaria.com/Floor-Range/Sangria-Red or something in bright turquoise. (The rest of the main floor is hardwood.)

That website I linked ships from UK and I've prefer to find something in this area that I can actually go look at, or at least not have so much trouble returning if I get it and the color is not right. Anyone have any idea where I could get something like that here?

Everything vinyl or linoleum at the usual suspects (Home Depot and the floor stores I've gone to) is the normal stuff like this-is-supposed-to-look-like-tile or this-is-supposed-to-look-like-wood. I want random bright color. Can I just use commercial vinyl tile -- like this: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Armstrong-12-in-x-12-in-Cherry-Red-Speckle-Pattern-Commercial-Vinyl-Tile/999997270

I think that's supposed to be for schools and gyms and stuff, but any reason why it wouldn't work in my house?
