I allowed general questions this year, but parents had none. I was hoping they would ask questions such as "How do you teach ___ if a child is struggling?" Or "What skills can my child transfer from this course to real life?" Most sat quietly and filled out the little index card. I felt awkward with that period of silence. I almost miss the years when they wanted to know my qualifications.

A cheer squad at one of the high schools around us did a babysitting fundraiser at the elementary BTSN. What a great idea!

But I digress, OP if you have questions after the presentation just email the teacher for clarification.

You will not get to talk one-on-one with the teacher unless you are that obnoxiously self-centered parent who just can't help themselves. BTSN isn't for you to discuss your child, it's for your child's teacher to talk about how the entire class will be run, what the entire class will be taught, etc. If you can't reasonably expect that your question would be of interest to at least 80% of the parents there, it's not an appropriate question for BTSN.
