Cole Haan makes good pumps or wedges, which are also appropriate.

I'm no fashionista or etiquette queen, but it is obvious even to me that the shoes are inappropriate. They will not look professional with a skirt, and they will look out of place in 90-degree weather.

Go out and buy a pair of pumps. Not brown. Look for something navy, nude, or burgundy.

I have an interview next week at the state dept (contractor) and have a beautiful deep chocolate skirt suit but am having trouble finding shoes to match.
