I was pretty minimalist about what I brought and it was fine.

For me: robe, flip flops, going home outfit, basic toiletries, phone and charger
For baby: going home outfit

Sibley sent me home with tons of diapers, wipes, aaaalll the vaginal care supplies, RTF formula (I combo fed)

That's pretty much it. I slept in the hospital gown the whole second day, it was more comfortable for me at that point. They had everything for baby and everything I needed. I also took a ton of stuff home.

The only things I needed at home that I couldn't take was extra numbing spray, Colace, painkillers, and I went through so many padsicle things that there weren't any left to take.

The food at Sibley was actually pretty good.

I delivered at Sibley - just ask and they will give you whatever you want to take home. I left with literal shopping bags full of diapers, tucks, a sitz bath, squeeze bottle, tucks, numbing spray, and pads/mesh panties.

I will say that they were a little more “stingy” this time with the take home bag. The last time I was there, I got packets of unopened diapers and wipes and a bunch of formula samples. This time they basically just said “whatever is left in the drawer is yours.”

I agree that they were more stingy the second time around in 2017 vs my first in 2015. But then again I didn’t use a bunch of the stuff I got the first time (sitz bath, formula samples, pacifiers, nose suction thing) or had stuff leftover so it didn’t bother me.

I was there last year.

For baby: kimono top, swaddle blanket, hat, diapers, wipes.
Me: mesh panties, pads, chux pads, squirt bottle, pad-sicles

I brought a ton of stuff I didn't use. I had some really great maternity/nursing PJs, a robe, and a maxi dress to go home in. I also brought my own toiletries and an extra long phone charger. For the baby, I brought a couple of going home outfits because I couldn't choose, but that was it.

You really don't need much.

Anyone deliver more recently and care to share their experience?

Pp here - as for baby, they supply everything you'll need but we brought a cute outfit for baby for photos and such while family was visiting. They will send you home with everything left in his bassinet (diapers, wipes, etc) except the clothing and blankets. And the clothing they put on him was just a long sleeve shirt so no pants (he was swaddled most of the time). We did find the mittens good so he didn't scratch himself but that was bc they wouldn't supply a nail file or clippers (so consider bringing them!)

I just delivered there this month. The new hospital is great. I loved having slippers and flip flops, my own pajamas so I didn't have to wear their gowns (just make sure bottoms are big enough for the diapers and all you'll be wearing!) and nursing tank tops. Shower stuff from home was nice too (I brought travel sizes so I could just throw them away when finished at hospital). We had family bring us drinks as I felt we didn't get much there (maybe if we had asked but all we got was water and it had a funny tap water taste to me). Your own pillow would be good and cell charger.

I just brought my personal toiletries, chapstick, nursing bra, slipper socks, and bathrobe. They will provide everything for the baby, and the mesh underwear/pads/ice packs for you, so all you need is a going-home outfit for the baby and for you. I also brought my phone and charger.

Previous posts cover what they gave me when I delivered in September. The only items I needed were toiletries. The nurses were generous about getting me more of the mesh underwear and ice packs to take home. I wish I asked for more of the newborn shirts. Those were a lifesaver the first few weeks home!

It's been 4 years since I delivered there but I was very happy for my pillow from home (more comfy for me), Chapstick, moisturizer and snacks. Other than my toothbrush and hairbrush I don't think I had much else with me that I used. I had a going home outfit for me and baby.

I delivered there in June. They provided: onesies, blankets, diapers, and hats for the baby; pads, mesh panties, ice packs to put in underwear, Tucks, hospital gowns, towels, socks with grips on the bottom, and appropriate meds while in hospital. They also have food there. I brought and used: yoga pants, tank tops, nursing bras, flip flops for shower, Tom's to walk around, phone, iPad, chargers, socks, outfit to bring baby home in (kimono onesie, socks, hat, blanket), car seat, toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, face wash, face lotion), mascara, blush. I brought a bunch of black panties too but didn't use them (just used the disposable mesh ones while there). You also need a car seat to leave, of course. That's all I can remember, but let me know if you have specific questions!

I am a FTM and almost 36 weeks. I want to start packing my hospital bag but I am unsure of what to bring vs what is already provided. I will be delivering at Sibley. I tried searching through old posts, but couldn't find anything specific. For those of you that delivered at Sibley, can you give me a rundown on what the hospital provided for you and to take home with baby? TIA!
