Hi there. I do agree with the other poster here. I was concerned about my daughter when she started her schooling. It’ll take some time for kids to get adapted to their routine and I’m sure it’ll get better for your lil one. Hope all goes well and I’ll be praying for a smooth transition. Hugs!

It's common for there to be a "honeymoon period" for like two weeks before the transition issues come out. So this is what you expected, just later than you knew to expect.

I think it takes another two weeks at that age before he is really in the new routine.

My 2-year-old started preschool this week. He was home with us for the first year, and then was in a nanny share for one year. It was always our plan to start him at this center at age 2. He seems to like his teachers and the school, already knew two of the kids in his class, and has had good days there according to the reports I've been getting. He has been happily playing when I pick him up. However, the drop off this morning was the worst of the three. I think he's having a harder time with the transition than was immediately apparent, and I feel terrible. I want to just run in there and scoop him up.

Last night he woke up at 4 a.m. saying he needed to blow his nose. He hasn't woken up at 4 a.m. in forever, so I wonder if he just needed some closeness.

When does it get better?
