What school / grade?

Langley for PK3. I though we would get in but then our number started moving backwards and only recently are we making any progress. We decided on daycare over our IB, partly for logistical reasons, and Langley would be moreasiest convenient as well as having some friends in the class. I'm staying hopeful!!

Been steadily moving up the list since school started for all schools on waitlist (PK3), hoping for continued movement. We are in the single digits now, started in the teens/20s originally

So why don't you just take yourself off the waitlist? UGH so annoying.

that actually gives the people behind unfounded hope

But makes things happen faster if a real slot opens up. Schools have to call each person in turn, and wait 48 hours for them to say yes or no.

Not necessarily - I declined on the spot when I was called on Friday (NP here).

Yes, but they have to reach you, then submit the information. If you know you are going to decline - just withdraw your name.

You should call them and reiterate your interest. ONce the school year starts the person who is tasked with working the waitlist can easily prioritize other things that are demanding their attention (ie: the students and parents of the students they actually have enrolled!). You can tell them that while you know they have to adhere to the waitlist process you just wanted to reiterate your interest and let them know that if offered a spot you'd accept immediately.

Very little movement fpr ECE and elementary - as has been case since common lottery. Unless your number is 5 or lower at a school I'd move on.

Many schools only have 2 classrooms at most for each grade, maybe 40-50 students. I think it's foolish to expect more than 10% to leave at this point.

My lists are moving a spot every day or two, but I'm pretty high up so no hope.

I think people in the low single digits can always stay hopeful. You never know when someone might move away or whatever.

Have people heard from schools these last couple weeks or does it seem like there is very little movement? That's my sense. Curious to know if there are still hopeful waitlisters out there or if you assume it's time to move on?
