She's probably great at the basic mechanics of math and numbers, but can she look at a word problem, set up the equation, and solve it correctly? The tests look for so much more than the basics these days. The extra practice is good for her confidence (although 30 minutes per day seems excessive to me), but don't try to funnel her into an advanced program where she is going to struggle to grasp concepts that are beyond her abilities. She will perform better and be much more confident when she is allowed to learn at her current level.
