Good grief. Back off of that poor child. She will learn to hate math if you continue on this path.

She's probably great at the basic mechanics of math and numbers, but can she look at a word problem, set up the equation, and solve it correctly? The tests look for so much more than the basics these days. The extra practice is good for her confidence (although 30 minutes per day seems excessive to me), but don't try to funnel her into an advanced program where she is going to struggle to grasp concepts that are beyond her abilities. She will perform better and be much more confident when she is allowed to learn at her current level.

Sounds like she is doing fine. I'm not sure why it matters if she isn't a year ahead.

You are still doing a great job and helping her confidence.
Many kids have real struggles. Keep doing it and don't show her your disappointment. Bite your tongue, it is ok.

Since it's the first week of second grade, she's testing 7 months ahead, right? That's not so bad.

In many ways, the more important question whether she feels confident with math and is learning good study habits.

I have been supplemented DD's math at home for 3 years. Singapore math and Kumon. About 30 minutes 4-5 days a week usually. Most of the summer we do it too.

She's in 2nd grade now. She keeps hanging in 83-85% in Star math test results. I was hoping she would be a grade level ahead by now. But she tested 2 and grade 7 months.

I'm disappointed.
