Well, the PARCC test is very hard. Many educators think it is not a reasonable test.

Didn't the Janney classes have 2 teachers? Over here in VA, we have the same size but just one teacher. Not sure what the big deal was at Janney.

yep, but these classrooms are pretty much 100% wealthy, "bright" white kids with super educated parents and almost ZERO social issues.

Yes. Both at Janney and Lafayette, the white students were less than the average for white students throughout DCPS. But for both schools, third grade seems to be an anomaly; 4th and 5th graders did much better.

I care because I'm a parent and a tax payer. I don't personally care about test scores, per se, but the District government roped our families and our children into this test, which many declare as worthless. This test required tons of instruction time to prep for. This test cost our city coffers millions....millions that could be spent on other education-related expenses.

If it makes you feel better, Lafayette had 20 kids in a class and still only 53% tested proficient in English.
