But wtf is your social circle that one carat is the smallest? I would assume HHI of 300+.

Right? my one carat is the biggest in my circle. Ha. You've gotta slum if you want to win.

I assure you that he is well aware that yours is the smallest ring in your circle. Please don't embarrass or hurt him by pointing it out.

Wear it for now and then when you've been married 20 years, get it remounted.

Be sure to bring up your disappointment during every fight... Maybe fiance #2 will do a better job.

Lots of women who are concerned about things like this just have the stone reset or trade up after a few years. However, everyone I know who did this is now divorced.

It does sound like your DH took time and picked out a quality ring / stone. Maybe think of the time he spent because he loves you?

Agreed. And also to the last post about being materialistic. Seriously, I'm not really a name-caller, but what a bitch.

Please show this to your fiancee so he can see the gold-digging, materialistic woman is he tying himself to.

You could just save up and buy yourself an engagement ring that is acceptable in your social circle.

I am a little embarrassed by my engagement ring. It's a little over a carat and seems to be a good quality stone (ideal cut round brilliant colorless) but I dislike the halo setting my fiancé picked. It's a little dull and not pretty enough. Also I'm the only one with the smallest diamomd in my circle. I love my fiancé and will wear this forever. Sometimes I look down and get annoyed.
