Well she works for my bf and yes she is slutty and bf says she was blabbing how happy she was to the whole office that she was free to date whoever she wants and in an open relationship. Of course i dont trust her around bf because like pp said she asked for an open relationship to sleep around.

I don't think that a person's relationship status on FB is necessarily "being vocal" about it. She's not concealing it, but unless she's posting repeatedly about her open relationship or talking to you about it in person, I think you should really just let it be.

I wouldn't take anything someone says on FB seriously.

That said, maybe they're sending a message to their FB friends that they're open to experimentation. Unless you're interested, why does it matter?

Open marriage is a stupid idea. It usually means the woman is getting laid when she wants to (even ugly chicks can get laid pretty much whenever they want) while the guy is just getting resentful and frustrated.

Fact - some men will screw anything that walks regardless of the relationship status of the screwie. Most women will not screw any man regardless of relationship status.

If either partner wants to screw a bunch of people, why be married? Just date.

Our neighbors told us they would swing... I think hoping we would. Told them not interested. Then they joked about how their 1st experience the couple was divorced, I said, no duh. They were not happy that I thought it was just the step right before divorce.

After their life blew up, rehab, divorce, 2 kids in serious therapy (1 survived, the one that is friends with my son)... It a fait accompli that leads to eventual demise of the relationship.

I have never had anyone confess this, but IMO, if you are female, then you are probably very weak and allowing yourself to be used by a man who has convinced you that it's ok.

Not married...just boyfriend/girlfriend? I would think it's a train wreck. Now marriage with kids, I usually think they have reached an agreement for the kids and I am fine with it.

I'd think she was still dating and wanted people to know she wasn't off the market, but still wanted to lay claim of having a boyfriend.

I don't do the Facebook, but isn't the relationship setting a big deal? "It's complicated" is on option, right? So, she didn't want to shut down opportunities but wanted to announce the great achievement of having found a boyfriend.

I envy people who can do it, in a perfect world, we could all enjoy the stability of a long term relationship in which to raise a family while still being able to have sex with others we find attractive. In the real world, I doubt it works that often - although reading these boards, neither does monogamy.

Those who are vocal about it - TMI and also it conveys a sense of smugness. It's one thing to let people know discretely if they inquire It's another to broadcast it randomly.

I have found that they think monogamy is a false construct and they think everyone else should be in open relationships, too.

I think open relationships are stupid, so I suppose I'm one of the reasons most people hide it. If you can't talk about it, than you shouldn't be doing it!
