Yeah, but he's the type who would already vote for Trump. The point is that the condescending statements he's been making to try and win over black votes won't work on the needed demographic -- African Americans. Did anyone read that recent New Yorker piece that says that the data shows that Trumps real supporters like your father, PP. Insulated within their white communities. It's not the people living in border states or the poor. Those are communities that are more diverse, have lots of interracial marriages, jobs where you might work with people that don't look like you, etc.
