Read about the "wheaten greeting". I'd never get this breed again. Dog had all the training in the world, he still sucked a little.

I'm voting for Bichon. Mine was female, extremely intelligent, easy to train, very affectionate, not uptight at all. Bichon's love their people!

Fluffy is kind of a broad trait that could include dogs that shed a lot or very little--also temperament wise there's vast difference between a chow and a wheaten terrier and a male bichon omg.

What do you consider medium size? About 20 lbs, or closer to 40? I have learned a lot of people's definitions of a medium dog vary. I consider my 19 lb sheltie a medium dog, but a lot of people consider him small. Not sure a sheltie is what you're looking for though, I would describe mine as having hair rather than fluff. It's not curly like a poodle.

I would argue those aren't fluffy. I'm thinking Samoyed or chow chow when I hear fluffy.

What qualities are you looking for in a dog? How much exercise are you planning to provide? What activities are you hoping to do together? If you share that info, I'm sure we could find a fluffy breed that would fit the bill.

Bichon but get a male. They are so easy going...the females are very uptight and worry about everything.

Bichon Frise? They don't shed very much and are considered less allergenic. Smart but reputed hard to train.
