Someone brings them to my car at 3:45 pm and that's that. There is no time for chatting or getting feedback about my camper. They like their counselors and I will donate but how do I take it to the next level (i.e. will you babysit for us, can i have your digits?)

Does your child have a 1 to 1 counselor? You should be getting daily notes in a notebook about his/her day. And regardless of whether you feel like you have a close personal relationship, I give a gift card/contribute to the gift fund because they have done a tremendous amount of work for my child over the summer (feeding, changing clothes, one on one assistance in swimming pool) and I appreciate that.

I was a counselor there a longggg time ago and one family made a donation and a mother gave me a bed bath and beyond gift card since I was heading off for my first year of college. The next year the same family gave me an iPod shuffle. All were awesome, unnecessary and totally thoughtful. I expected nothing and it was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The cards though we're the best. A thoughtful note saying thank you goes a long way.

we take her out to dinner for a nice thank you. I think you can do whatever you want, I just wouldn't do it at camp so that the counselor's not put in an uncomfortable position. They are the greatest group of counselors at JCC.

You're supposed to make a donation to the Dinner of Champions in their name.

Somehow my kid always bonds with his inclusion counselor. There are still a few weeks left before the kids head back to college. Our counselor is coming over next Thursday to babysit. How I pay her that night is up to me.

Quick question for those who attended Camp JCC- were you allowed to tip the counselor - such as giving a gift card et al?
If not looking for other ideas to thank the counselor(s) who did a great job with my kid.
Thanks
