How old are your kids?

Omg that was us. You know what? It was the damn tv! Eat dinner at the table together, talk about your day, go on a walk or just talk! Do not let the tv be on 24-7.

Do you have a TV in the bedroom? If so, remove it. I've never had one in the bedroom and never wanted to. My fiancé and I connect before bed and talk about things and of course have sex. There are studies that show removing the TV from the bedroom helps relationships. It's not much but it's a start to feeling more connected and in tune, and maybe getting back on track.

Also, if your jobs give you vacation time but you just can't afford it, take the time off and do a staycation. Visit a local landmark you've never been to or go to a park. Think up a relatively inexpensive house project and work on it together. All things I've done that turned out to be fun activities with my partner.

Never sit down in front of the tv before dark. Go outside, walk, bike, exercise, garden, have date night once a week, have sex spontaneously during the day, go on an inexpensive vacation, LIVE!

Oh and don't watch during dinner. Talk about things. Even if it starts out you talking about your job and him talking about his.

Do at least 2 nights sans tv after dinner. Play cards, scrabble, go for a walk, get an ice cream cone.
You need to participate and not just be a consumer of radio waves.

What about exercising together? Hit up a winery, go to the beach for one night, walk around the free museums, play cards, get a puppy. Just do something to start to get out of the rut!

Get out and DO something with your DH! You'll love it and so will he. Even day trips if you can't afford the time or money for a "real" vacation.

It may not be an either/or thing.

You may both be boring.

It's the tv. Disconnect it. Then you will have to do something else that's more interesting, or go to sleep.

Volunteer? Invite friends over to play cards?

so wait. your lifestyle is boring and you want out of your marriage?

turn off the TV and schedule a f**ing vacation. Get the game "Bananagrams" and a deck of cards. Read the paper so you have something to talk to him about. if you don't have $$ to eat out, go to coffee with him.

vacations don't have to be expensive find a low cost way to get away for even a couple days. Might be what you both need

I am utterly bored in my marriage. We have not taken a vacation in 3 years.Our every day life is a grind of long commute, lack of money and watching TV. I feel like I am just moving through life in a fog. How can I get out?
