I found New Balance to be good for my wide footed son. If you want durable, you can't get any better than Keen. They do run on the short side, so make sure to try them on. I have found Stride Rite shoes to be horrible quality.

FWIW, if your child has extremely wide feet, the Lands End shoes are not wide enough. Bummer because my DD would love to have these.

My DD, who is now 7, has been a XXW for as long as she has been walking. We go to Shoe Town and tell them what we are looking for and they help us. Nothing else has worked.

My DD has extremely wide feet and wears orthotics. We go to shoe train. She wears new balance sneakers. She can also wear leather MARY Janes. In addition, she can wear one style of Keens that run the widest (I believe its seacamps). Cute shoes (read trendy stuff that everyone else wears) don't run wide enough. There is a jambu Mary Jane that runs wide as well.

I get the stride rites mary jane-type shoes in a wide size from amazon prime or zappos. There is usually a better selection than in stores and they hold up well enough for us.

We have this pair in navy (it comes in other colors):

https://www.amazon.com/Stride-Rite-Made-Play-Terry/dp/B00ZXMDFPM/ref=sr_1_6?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1470767987&sr=1-6&nodeID=679217011&refinements=p_89%3AStride+Rite%2Cp_n_size_four_browse-vebin%3A3491794011%2Cp_n_shoe_width_browse-vebin%3A1285064011

Otherwise I would just search on zappos/amazon for size 2 wide mary janes and see what comes up, but make sure there is free shipping/returns.

I cannot find non-sneakers that will work for DD6. She has a wide foot and wears a size 2. Tried Nordstoms. Nothing. Stride Rite was fine for wide sneakers but that's it. Every pair of See Kai Run we've had have fallen apart quickly and have proven not to be worth the money. I'm willing to spend that much, but the rubber sole can't peel off in a matter of weeks.

DD likes to run so I don't want just little ballet flat shoes. I'm thinking even sneaker-ish Mary Janes.

Any suggested brands?
